The library gets eBooks from different platforms and some of these platforms have different restrictions when downloading chapters from their site. If you want to download a book chapter for one of these platforms, please find their name below to know how to download chapters and if their platform has any restrictions.
Platforms
These platforms DO NOT have restrictions:
- Bloomsbury
- Brill
- Cambridge Core
- De Gruyter eBooks
- JSTOR
- Manchester
- Project Muse
- SAGE
- Springer/Spring Nature
- Taylor and Francis
- Wiley Online
These platforms DO have restrictions:
This platform does not allow downloads:
- You can download chapters for titles that will not expire and there is not a limit on the number of pages or chapters you can download from the ebook.
- To download a chapter from an eBook, users will need to choose the chapter they want to download under the eBook details.
- Once the chapter loads, there will be different options towards the top of the page and one of those options is to download the chapter.
- You can download chapters for titles that will not expire and there is not a limit on the number of pages or chapters you can download from the eBook.
- To download a chapter from an eBook select the ‘Download PDF’ button that is within the table of contents of the eBook.
- All of Brill’s digital content is available as PDF and most are also available as Full Text XML.
- You can download chapters for titles that will not expire and there is not a limit on the number of pages or chapters you can download from the eBook. There are multiple ways in which you can save/download eBook chapters.
- You can choose the ‘PDF’ button of the chapter you are wanting, or you select the chapter(s) and then choose one of the many ‘Actions for selected content’ that is to the left of the table of contents.
- If no ‘Actions for selected content’ is displaying, select the plus sign in the upper left-hand corner of the table of contents. Some of the actions are Download PDF (zip), Save to Kindle, Save to Dropbox, and Save to Google Drive.
- You can download full eBooks for most titles in De Gruyter that will not expire, and there is not a limit.
- However, there are a handful of eBooks published by De Gruyter’s publisher partners that have requested removal of complete PDF for download, rather users can download chapter by chapter without limit.
- To download, select ‘Contents’ of the eBook, and choose Download PDF next to the chapter desired.
- You can download chapters for some eBooks, however, there will be eBooks' chapters you cannot download because some eBooks' publishers do not permit downloading.
- Most ebooks will allow a 100 page limit per user, but some page limits are less than 100. Downloaded chapters should not expire.
- Here is an article for how to download chapters from EBSCO.
- Users may download, view, and print and/or make paper or electronic copies of citations, abstracts, full text, or portions of Source Content for educational research and personal non-commercial use only; provided, however, that you may download no more than One Thousand (1,000) Source Content documents per Session.
- To download, use the tool bar at the top right of the screen while you are viewing a full text or chapter, and select the download icon.
- Users may download or print Content in reasonable amounts for non-commercial, scholarly purposes.
- To download, select the download button in the table of contents under the desired chapter.
- Users may download chapters or eBooks for use offline.
- To download, select the desired chapter and download button at the top right-hand corner of the chapter view.
- Does not allow the downloading of eBooks.
- There are no restrictions on downloads or printing.
- Users have unlimited downloading and printing of either the full eBook or individual eBook chapters.
- The download button for the full eBook will be at the top of the Table of Contents or for the individual chapters will be underneath the chapters title.
- Users can download chapters for titles that will not expire.
- However, there is a limit on how many pages Milner can download/print every 24 hours, which is shown on the eBook's detail page.
- Unlike EBSCO, Ebook Central sees Milner as one unit so when one person downloads a chapter the page number limit will change for every other person who views the eBook as well. Here is an article that explains what is stated previously a bit more thoroughly and explains how to download/print chapters within Ebook Central.
