Instructors, do you need a persistent link to a library resource to embed in ReggieNet, Powerpoint, or another course tool? Students, do you need a new link for an online journal article, database, eBook, streaming video, audio recording, etc. that you have to access for your class? Use the Open Athens link generator to help!
To use the Open Athens link generator to get a new link to a library resource:
Under Find Your Organization, type in Illinois State University
Copy a link you would like to “Athenize” and paste it in the Enter your links box.
If the link you are trying to “Athenize” fails, check to see if it has this prefix and remove it: https://login.libproxy.lib.ilstu.edu/login?url=
The "Athenized" link will appear under the box. Click Copy to get a copy of the link.
Notes:
If a library resource is from EBSCO, Gale, or ProQuest databases, the redirector will not work. Instead, copy a link from the catalog, or copy a link from the resource's access page within the database to get a stable link that works.
If a library resource is from eBook Central or Kanopy, they do not need to be "Athenized" and can be copied from the resource's access page within the database.
