Q. How can I share a link to ensure the receiver can access the resource through Milner Library with their ULID login?

Do you need a link to Milner Library’s access for an online journal article, database, eBook, streaming video, audio recording, etc. for homework or to send to a classmate? 

First, try searching for the item by title using the Everything search box on the library’s home page under Start Your Research:

• Find a book, eBook, streaming video, or audio recording: Change the Everything dropdown to Library Catalog to search only items from Milner Library.
  • The Find Items in the Catalog help videos show how to find books, ebooks, videos, and audio recordings in the Milner Catalog.
• Find an article: Change the Everything dropdown to Articles to search only articles from a variety of Milner Library databases.  
  • The Find an Article by Title help video shows how to search Articles search to check Milner access for an article.

If you are wanting to share a link to an article (or other database item) from a specific database, use the Open Athens Link Generator to ensure the receiver gets access to Milner Library’s content. Notes:   

• If a library resource is from EBSCO, Gale, eBook Central, Kanopy or ProQuest databases, the link does not need the proxy prepend that the Open Athens Link Generator will add to work. You can copy a link from the catalog, or copy a link from the resource's access page within the database to get a stable link that works.
