Q. How do I get a copy of my chat transcript when I use the Milner Library Ask a Librarian chat service?

There are two ways you can get a copy of your chat transcript:

1. During the Chat

Choose the envelope icon at the top of the chat window to email a copy of the transcript to yourself at any time, which only records the conversation up to the time where you selected the icon.  If you want a full transcript of your complete chat, you may need to use the after chat transcript option below.

2. After the Chat

Keep your window open at the end of the chat and:

• Let the librarian close the chat OR
• Select the x in your chat box to end the chat

If you end the chat one of those two ways while keeping the chat window open, you will see a window like this:

From this window, you can get a copy of your transcript two different ways:

• Choose the envelope icon to view your transcript in a new window, where you can email it to yourself.
• If you choose to fill out the feedback form, check the box next to Email yourself a transcript of this chat before you submit your feedback.

If you have already closed your chat window, but you still need a copy of your chat transcript, start another chat and ask the librarian to send you a chat transcript.
