Illinois State University faculty, staff and students have access to a number of streaming video websites through Milner Library subscriptions.  There are multiple ways to access streaming videos.

Electronic Course Reserves

Milner Library provides links to electronic course reserves, including streaming videos, to your professor. Your professor will post the links on the Canvas site for your course.

If you don't find your streaming video in the Canvas site for your course, please contact your professor to ask where to find the item in the Canvas site for your course.

If the video is not on Canvas, search for the video title in the Milner Catalog.

Milner Catalog

  • Go to the Everything advanced search.
  • Under Search for, change Everything to Library Catalog.
  • Enter the video title in search box at the top of the screen. Change Keyword to Title, and Contains to Contains Exact Phrase.
  • Change Material Type to Video/Film and choose Search.
  • Under Tweak Your Results on right of results list, select Availability and choose Available Online.
  • Choose the video title for more information.
  • Look for View Online, and select the link beneath it to it to view the video.

Databases

  • To browse streaming videos, go to the Databases A-Z List.
  • Change the All Database Types dropdown to Video (streaming) to view streaming video databases.
  • Choose title of database to browse or search for videos in that database
